The City of Stratford is issuing an apology after pre-authorized tax payments scheduled for December 1st came out early.
The city says an early withdrawal took place earlier this week and they are investigating the matter.
The City adds they will work with affected property owners and ask for patience as they work through this.
Affected residents will not have another withdrawal on December 1st and property tax accounts will not be charged interest or fees through December 31st.
The city isn’t reversing the payment as it became apparent that for most this was just a one or two day inconvenience and a reversal would take longer to do.
