Police Looking for Suspect in Vehicle Theft, Found on Fire in Mount Forest

Guelph police are looking to identify a suspect in an incident which resulted in a vehicle being set on fire and found destroyed in Mount Forest.

On June 19 just before 8am police were called to a plaza near Kortright Road West and Ironwood Road in the city.

Police say the victim had his 2009 Mazda 3 running while he went into a store and as he came back saw the vehicle being reversed out of the parking lot.

The victim then grabbed onto his car and was dragged three metres before falling the ground sustaining minor injuries.

The suspect was described as a white man with a goatee and chin strap beard, wearing a black t-shirt, jeans and brown boots or shoes carrying a pink or purple backpack and a black backpack.

The stolen Mazda was later recovered northeast of Mount Forest where it was set on fire.
