West Grey Police are turning to the public after an assault just east of Neustadt.
On May 2nd a victim was lured to an abandoned rural property under false pretenses in the area of Grey Road 9 and attacked by unknown suspects.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by a concerned passerby.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area of Grey Road 9 between 2pm and 4pm on May 2nd and might have seen anything suspicious to contact West Grey Police.
This incident is believed to be isolated and there is no threat to public safety at this time.
Police are reminding residents to exercise caution when arranging meetings through online marketplaces such as over Facebook or on Kijiji and when possible to meet in a well lit area, avoid unfamiliar locations and let someone know where you’re going and who you’re meeting.
