In the interview he says the decision to pass the legislation was to keep kids in school.
“At the beginning of this we’ve always made it clear we wanted kids in schools. After 2.5 years of pandemic related disruptions we know its very important for kids to be in schools. I’ve heard that from alot of parents in the riding.”
Rae speaks to the plans of the Province going forward.
“CUPE has agreed to withdrawal their strike action and come back to the negotiating table. In return, at our earliest opportunity, we will revoke Bill-28 in its entirety.”
CUPE was flanked at its press conference announcing their return to classrooms by over 2 dozen provincial and federal labour unions representing over 1 million workers in Canada.
