Just after 2pm on December 6th officers were on patrol on Line 34 in West Perth when they stopped a vehicle after it was found driving in excess of 140 in an 80 zone.
During the course of investigation officers determined the driver had consumed alcohol and was impaired.
Charged is a 34 year old male from West Perth with operating while impaired alcohol and drugs, operating while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80 plus and racing a motor vehicle.
A 90 day license suspension and a 7 day vehicle impoundment were initiated as well.
The accused is set to appear in a Stratford court at a later date to answer to the charges.
