Perth OPP charge driver with possession of fentanyl in Listowel

Perth County OPP have charged a driver with possession of fentanyl in Listowel.

Just before 9pm on December 7th officers on patrol located a vehicle parked on private property on Tremaine Avenue South in Listowel.

When police approached the vehicle the driver was found passed out behind the wheel.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia were observed in plain view on the drivers lap.

The driver displayed signs of impairment when woken up.

Following a DRE examination a 28 year old woman from North Perth has been charged with operation while impaired alcohol and drugs, failure to comply with demand, possession of a scheduled substance heroid, opioid and methamphetamine.

A 90 day license suspension and 7 day vehicle impoundment were initiated as well. The accused is set to appear in a Stratford court at a later date to answer to the charges.

Police announced this is the fourth similar incident since September in which a driver has been found passed out impaired behind the wheel of a vehicle in North Perth.
