The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario made the announcement at its Ontario Tourism Summit with the County’s Economic Development and Tourism department winning an Ontario Tourism Resiliency Award for their Discover More Adventures experimental tourism program.
The award was meant to celebrate excellence in tourism work happening across the province in three categories: innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.
Perth County Tourism Officer Ashley Lansink said of the win that they are incredibly proud of the Discover More Adventures program and even more proud to that Perth County has a collection of exciting, award-winning, tourism experiences to offer the world.
Perth County was up against Destination Toronto and Ottawa Tourism.
