Perth County council has shown their support through the county’s economic development and tourism departments to a local group to work towards developing a Huron-Perth Ag Science Centre in North Perth.
At Thursday’s meeting, Jillian Lewis, chair of the committee guiding the development of the science centre presented her group’s proposal in hopes to get support and move forward with drafting a business plan and launch fundraising.
Many councilors agreed the science centre is a great project to get behind as all voted to have Perth County work with the science centre and have economic development staff offer any form of support or service they can.
County Warden Jim Aitcheson also saying they would consider setting aside funding for the project in 2022 or in another future budget.
