Perth County paramedics responded to 47 per cent of cardiac arrest calls with a response time of six minutes with 62 per cent of resuscitation calls in eight minutes in 2021.
This was provided during a year end report from paramedic Chief Mike Adair.
In his report, he notes Perth County paramedics responded to almost 1000 calls for service last year, a rise of 17 per cent over the last decade.
An addition of more ambulances in the area also saw a drop of “code critical” which is when paramedics had three or fewer ambulances available.
16 code critical’s were issued, a drop of 22 in 2019 and 24 in 2018.
