Perth County is following Huron County in issuing an open air burn ban across the area.
Given the dry conditions, all fire departments in Perth County, Stratford and St Mary’s have issued an open air burn ban which took effect at midnight this morning.
Any fire outside of a building that isn’t in a contained campfire pit or otherwise is not permitted.
Recreational campfires are still allowed within the rules of each municipality’s Open Air Burn By-Law.
The ban will remain in effect until further notice.
