Perth County council has approved this years capital and operating budget and for the County end of the tax bill, this will see an additional $89.24 annual per household.
The budget represents an increase of $2,638,165 from last year with the approval seeing an 8.75 per cent increase to the annual budget.
The 2026 budget includes various investments, 33 capital projects for a total of $9.6 million which includes;
- Rehabilitation and/or replacement of key road network infrastructure including 4 bridge and culvert projects as well as the repaving of 22 centreline kilometers of road
- Renovation of the Provincial Offences Courtroom and County Council Chambers at the County Courthouse
- $50,000 financial contribution to the continued development of the Ontario Agri-Food Discovery Centre
- The development of a new Economic Development and Tourism wayfinding signage program
CAO Lori Wolfe says staff have been working diligently to deliver a budget which maintains essential services, advances strategic priorities and responds thoughtfully to the pressures being felt by residents and business in Perth County.
