Perth County 2022 Budget Approved

Nearly an extra $1 million will be collected from tax payers in Perth County when compared to last year as the 2022 budget has been approved.

This year’s levy will see a 5.9 per cent increase over the $17.1 million collected last year. For the average family in Perth County this equals out to an increase of $21.59.

The owner of a farmland assessed in 2016 at the value of $1.5 million will pay an extra $31.50 in taxes.

In a release, Warden Jim Aitcheson says council remains focused on the goals of the Strategic Plan and ensuring support for programs and services in the growing county.

Among the budget is a long list of road and bridge work across the area including 14.2kms of Perth Road 131 from Milverton to Line 86 as well as reconstruction of Perth Line 8 from Perth Road 163 to Highway 23 at Kirkton.
