Paramedic response times across Wellington County still continues to be an issue.
An update provided by the Wellington County Social Services Committee showed response times have jumped over the past year due to a lack of available staff to respond to 911 calls.
The amount of “code reds” issued when no ambulances are available due to crews offloading patients jumped in 2022 to 50.
This is a massive leap from 4 code reds in 2021 and none in 2020.
The numbers of paramedic calls was 30,204 last year with 11,598 of them being in Wellington County with the rest out of Guelph.
