Outbreak declared at St. Marys Memorial Hospital In-Patient Unit

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance has declared an outbreak on the Inpatient Unit at it’s St. Marys Memorial Hospital site after 5 cases were identified. Four of the case are in staff and 1 patient has been affected.

Affected staff are self isolating at home and they are currently asymptomatic. The patient has been transferred to the Stratford General Hospital.

Family and caregiver visitation on the Inpatient Unit has been restricted. The only exception is for palliative patients.

Care teams will regularly update family and caregivers to make them aware of opportunities for virtual visits.

Admissions to the Inpatient Unit are closed but the hospital remains open for Outpatient appointments.

The hospital will contact any patients should the status of their appointment be changed.

The Emergency Department remains open and safe to receive care.
