Some Conservative MP’s are looking to call for a caucus review of Erin O’Toole’s leadership of the party.
MP’s such as Bob Benzen who endorsed O’Toole in 2017 and 2020 says his decision did not come lightly.
In a statement, Benzen adds O’Toole campaigned on being a leader to deliver more seats in the GTA, but points out the Conservatives lost a seat in the GTA under O’Tooles leadership.
Other reasoning’s in Benzen’s statement include the adoption of a de-facto carbon tax policy last April, failing to stand up against Bill 96 in Quebec and failing to stand up for the Charter rights of Canadians during the pandemic.
Many citizens look at Candice Bergen or Pierre Poilievre to take the leadership role of the Conservative Party should a caucus review go forward.
O’Toole has responded saying he isn’t going anywhere but will accept the results of the vote.
