Optimism Place Women’s Shelter and Support Services has celebrated the expansion of 7000 sq feet to their facility.
The expansion of Optimism Place comes from federal support of $3 million as part of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation while also from the community on the “Building on Hope” campaign from Optimism Place.
The expansion addresses a much needed boost in services for the area as last year, Optimism Place was unable to provide residential services 335 times due to a lack of space.
