While the ice across lakes has melted and weather has been decent in recent days, OPP say that doesn’t mean its safe to be on the water.
OPP West have received reports in recent weeks of people on paddle and surf boards in the area.
Temperatures in Lake Erie and Lake Huron across the western region are no higher than 3 degrees, which are dangerous temperatures if you run into trouble according to the OPP.
Police ask to simply wait for more warmer temperatures and wait until the lakes to get warmer before heading into the water.
