OPP across the west region laid thousands of traffic charges over the course of the long weekend.
Police were busy enforcing what they call the “Big 4” of bad driving behaviors, aggressive, distracted and impaired driving as well as not wearing a seat belt.
In total, OPP West laid 2436 charges across 13 detachments on 2577 traffic stops from September 1st-4th.
Speeding took most of the charges at 1450.
There were 128 seat belt violations, 54 impaired driving and 31 distracted driving charges.
Perth County laid 282 of the total charges in the western region.
