Did you get a text from the Canada Revenue Agency saying you’ve got funds waiting for deposit?
OPP are warning you this is a scam. OPP and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre have received reports of residents getting texts from a number claiming to be the CRA with money waiting to be deposited into your bank account and provide a link to complete the transfer.
Police say this is nothing more than a scam as the CRA will never text you about funds.
Even by email the CRA does not provide any direct links to receive funds or log into your account.
