The messages tell of a refund from the just announced cancellation of the license plate sticker program, and concern what some drivers may be receiving back after already purchasing new stickers prior to the announcement.
Police advise that if your address is up to date with the Ministry then the refund of any sticker fees paid will be automatic by a cheque in the mail near the end of this month.
In any instance of a text promising of a refund if you confirm information, always contact the organization they are preporting to be (and not the sender directly).
