With the long weekend now here to kick off the near end of summer, OPP are counting on everyone to do their part and ensure a safe Labour Day weekend.
Officers will be out in increased presence to enforce traffic laws on the roads, trails and on the water.
At the end of August, a total of 176 people have died in 166 fatal collisions on OPP patrolled roads.
Many collisions were preventable and a cause of poor driving.
Of the fatalities, 47 were from excessive speed, 33 from inattentive driving, 29 from lack of seatbelts with alcohol and/or drugs with 23 deaths this year.
