This week marks Crime Prevention Week and Wellington County OPP are reminding community members of tools available to them to make online buy and sell safer.
When online shopping its recommended to never provide your address or personal details online to someone you don’t know and meet in a local, public and safe place to complete the exchange.
Various detachments in Wellington such as Fergus, Teviotdale, Rockwood have been identified as Project Safe Trade zones are available for community members.
These zones act as a safe and neutral spot where buyers and sellers can conduct exchanges with greater confidence, reducing the risk of fraud, theft and other transaction related incidents.
