OPP will once again be out in increased presence for the August Long Weekend traffic safety campaign.
Police will be out and about making sure drivers are paying attention, wearing a seat belt, slowing down, driving sober and pulling over for emergency vehicles.
During last year’s Civic Day long weekend campaign, OPP laid a total of 3514 speeding charges, 512 seat belt infractions, 204 impaired driving charges and 77 for distracted driving.
