OPP across the western region say it was another busy holiday season for their Festive RIDE Campaign.
The increase of ride programs which ran from November 16th-January 1st saw 2446 ride checks across all detachments in the western region, an increase from 1804 the year before.
In total, 350 charges of impaired operation were laid, up from 270 with over 13,000 vehicles driving through the ride programs.
Despite the end of the campaign, police still continue to operate with the RIDE checks to ensure drivers are staying sober.
