OPP Automatic Plate Reader Finds Stolen Vehicle

New equipment installed in OPP cruisers is paying off for Wellington County OPP.

On April 15th at around 3:30am, an officer was patrolling on Wellington Road 39 when the Automatic License Plate Reader alerted them to a stolen vehicle.

When the driver did not pull over, officers were able to pop the tires on the vehicle and bring them to a stop, arresting 3 individuals. 

As a result 3 Cambridge residents have been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.

The 42 year old driver was also charged with Flight from a Peace Officer with a 33 year old passenger also given a Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine charge.

All will appear in Guelph court on June 9th.
