Ontario Not Part of Federal Emergency Fund for Farmers

Turns out Ontario Farmers won’t get a crack at the 35 million dollar Federal Emergency On-Farm Support Program. Applications are now being accepted for many provinces but Ontario is not on the list.

Marie-Claude Bibeau, the Federal Agriculture Minister says there will be independent programs by other programs in the coming weeks. She pointed out some provinces wanted to manage their own fund, Ontario being one of them.

The money will go towards infrastructure improvements, emergency housing and the purchase of PPE.
