Ontario is hiring 225 additional nurse practitioners to work in the long term care sector.
The government is investing $57.6 million over the span of the next three years to recruit nurses through the Hiring More Nurse Practitioners for Long Term Care Program.
The funding provides long term care homes for eligible employment expenses such as salary, benefits and overhead costs for newly hired nurse practitioners.
The funding also provides $5000 for relocation support who are hired to work in rural communities.
