Ontario expands vaccine eligibility to 40 plus as of May 13th

The Provincial Government announced today that due to an increase in vaccine supply in Ontario they are further expanding eligibility to book a Covid-19 vaccine appointment throughout the week of May 10th.

As of tomorrow those individuals with at-risk health conditions as well as Group Two of people who cannot work from home including grocery store, restaurant and transportation workers will be eligible to book an appointment to receive a vaccine.

Effective Thursday, May 13th at 8 am individuals turning 40 and over in 2021 in non-hot spot communities will also be eligible to book an appointment to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

Also due to the increase in supply the Province is adding high-risk health care workers, dialysis patients and all First Nations, Inuit and Metis individuals to the list of those eligible to book their appointment to receive their second dose earlier than th extended 4 month interval. It begins this week and booking details will be provided shortly.

Huron Perth Public Health hasn’t announced, as of yet, how they will accommodate these changes in eligibility in the local vaccination strategy. Keep checking their vaccine website for updates on how to book.
