One Way Block Trial to Remain for Winter

North Perth council met to discuss again the One Way Block on Wallace Avenue South. As discussion continues as to whether or not to have the one way be permanent, it must first survive the winter.

Manager of Operations Lyndon Kowch says not much needs to change to trial for the winter aside from mounting some signs.

“We will have to permanently mount some signs simply because they’re large and need to be anchored. We’ll be doing some minor changes to the intersection to prepare it for winter. ” said Kowch

When it comes to deciding later to keep the one way permenemt or not, some councilors say it would likely be better to just make a choice now, including Julie Behrens.

“I just don’t like the wording of the recommendation. I think you’ve already made your mind up and it’s in the recommendation. ”

Council approved the motion 8-1 to have the one way remain until April 30th 2022 at which staff will update the report and make a recommendation regarding the trail becoming permanent. Neil Anstett was the lone voter against the motion.
