North Perth Looking Into Bird Watching Area

North Perth council heard earlier this week from Doug Grant who spoke as a delegation.

Grant is looking to provide a boost to tourism to have a bird watching area around the Wastewater Treatment Plant Lagoon.

Grant believes with the opening of the lagoon and showcasing the natural areas, North Perth can expand as a destination for those who love nature.

Grant adds this level of increased tourism can greatly benefit businesses across the municipality.

“I think it’s a prime time to take advantage of this. We can try to help the local businesses, specifically restaurants, hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts to recover from the pandemic and the losses they had.” said Grant.

Council accepted Grants comments with Matt Richardson agreeing this could provide a boost to local businesses. Council will return to the discussion at a later date.
