The Township of North Huron is set to receive over $2 million in both federal and provincial funding.
The money will be used for the Wingham standpipe replacement project. In 2019 North Huron council gave staff the green light to apply for funding through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Plan Green Stream Intake Program to replace the standpipe.
The total cost for the replacement is slotted at $2,852,040. The provincial government will help cover $950,584.93 with the feds providing $1,140,816.
Council approved the engineering design work to have the Wingham water storage facility to RJ Burnside & Associates back in May.
