It’s always nice to be recognized for good things we do in our daily lives. The act doesn’t have to be big to feel the appreciation when our peers see value in what we do.
This is the thought behind the call for Award Nominations for the 2020 Norm Stirling Citizen of the Year Award and the 2020 Celebrate North Perth Inspiration Award.
The Norm Stirling Citizen of the Year Award is named after Norm who was one of the heroes of the Listowel Memorial Arena collapse in 1959. Within seconds of the roof starting to collapse, Coach Stirling grabbed and carried 2 players to the ice and took cover at the north sideboards. All 3 survived. The award was setup up as a memorial award in his honour by Wallace Township.
The Inspiration Award is a new award and part of the Celebrate North Perth initiative. It recognizes an individual who inspires others through their outstanding accomplishments or service to the community within the preceding year.
Nominations for both awards will be accepted until Friday, March 5th at 4pm. The presentation of the awards will be done at a virtual Celebrate North Perth event being planned for April.
To submit a person you think is deserving of either the Norm Stirling Citizen of the Year or Celebrate North Perth Inspiration award all you have to do is visit the North Perth website link here.
There are multiple ways to submit your ideas. Either complete the online application form, download the fillable PDF application form and e-mail it in once completed or download and print the form and drop it off at the North Perth Municipal Office using the drop box.
Submit your ideas for a deserving Norm Stirling Citizen of the Award recipient or Celebrating North Perth Inspiration recipient today. Nominations open until March 5th at 4pm.
