New Public Health Restrictions not off table to curb spread

The Ontario Government is discussing what new public health restrictions may need to be implemented to counteract the rising number of cases of Covid-19 and the hospitalization numbers.

The Premier spoke at a press conference today saying to not make plans for Easter.

He hinted a lockdown is under consideration to protect ICU capacity as the number of intensive care patients with Covid-19 rises to a level not seen since the 2nd wave in January.

The variants of concern are currently making up 67 percent of all new Covid-19 cases in Ontario and are likely what’s behind the rise in people requiring hospitalization including those involving younger people.
