The new CT Scanner is now in place at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
The new scanner is ready for use following a successful fundraising campaign by the community.
Last April, the Groves Hospital Foundation was put forward to raise $2 million for the new unit and reached the goal earlier this year and ahead of schedule.
A ribbon cutting was held last week to celebrate the completion of the fundraising campaign and the scanners arrival.
Rob Young, Ambulatory Care & Diagnostic Imaging Manager for the Wellington Health Care Alliance says the new technology uses both the normal x-ray and second less powerful x ray to make the images.
