With VIA Rail having a 0 per cent on time performance in and out of Stratford and St Marys, MP John Nater is calling for VIA Rail to step up.
This summer saw not a single train for VIA Rail arrive or depart on time in the area and while Nater says he has been an advocate for improved VIA Rail service, this recent number has raised questions on their commitment to the region.
In a letter to VIA Rail’s Interim President and CEO, Nater says he hopes Mathieu Paquette will acknowledge this standard of service is unacceptable and questioning if VIA Rail is knowingly neglecting these routes so they can cease services along the North Main Line.
