NACI Says AstraZeneca Vaccine is Now Safe for Those 65 and Older

While previously saying the AstraZeneca vaccine wasn’t advised to be used on seniors 65 and older, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization has announced the vaccine is safe for those older than 65.

This was previously not advised due to a lack of data but this hasn’t stopped certain provinces like Quebec from administering them to seniors over 65.

While the NACI will recommend those 65 and older to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine, Ontario Solicitor General Sylvia Jones said Ontario likely will not make the change due to quantities of AstraZenecas vaccine remains low.
