Mitchell Hawks Preparing for 2023-24 PJHL Season

It’s another season of the PJHL which kicks off in just a few weeks.

The Mitchell Hawks enter in this season recharged and refreshed and will look to keep a run going chasing a championship.

Last season the Hawks finished with 57 points in 42 games finishing 2nd in the North Pollock Division and it was a clean sweep for the Hawks over the Goderich Flyers in the 1st round of the playoffs but a short lived 2nd round which saw the Hawks bounced in 5 games against the Hanover Barons.

General Manager for the Mitchell Hawks Scott Bridge says going into this season the key improvement which needs to be made is discipline.

“Last year we took way too many penalties, we were left out of so many tight games and late penalties we need to stop that this year if we want to find ourselves in the top 3 of the division. I think with the team we got we can improve on that” Bridge.

The offseason has been busy for the Hawks as Bridge says the spring skate alone was a busy one.

“We had over 40 kids come out to our spring skate. That was all done with myself and our assistant coaches. It’s been busy”

The regular season for the Mitchell Hawks kicks off at home on September 16th against the Hanover Barons.
