Minto is continuing their support for the ACE (Active, Connected, Engaged) Coordinator position within the community.
First created by the Township of Mapleton with the Seniors Centre for Excellence, program services are also extended to include Minto and Wellington North.
The position of ACE Coordinator maintains regular zoom meetings weekly, engages on social media and uses the platform to promote the Seniors Centre for Excellence and other community events of interest for seniors.
Ruth Wilson shared with council her experiences of various programs seen with the help of the ACE Coordinator.
“We have gotten to know so many more of our seniors better because of some of the sessions are called ‘A Day in the Life of’ and they would tell us in words and pictures their whole life story. There are really some remarkable people out there.” said Wilson.
Minto was in full support of the program and has matched a $10,000 donation by Mapleton in support.
