Minto Requesting Government to Keep Clifford Urban Boundary Extension

The Town of Minto will request the provincial government to keep a recent proposed urban boundary extension in Clifford in place.

Council endorsed a staff recommendation last week to request the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing not to include the lands in upcoming legislation to reverse a number of boundary extensions imposed across the province on municipalities.

Staff and council are supporting the expansion place for reasons such as Clifford holds the servicing capacity for the lands and a developer intending to work with them in the future.

Mayor Dave Turton says it makes sense to move ahead as they already have a developer and the capacity.
