Minto Mad Dogs Rally in Support for Goaltender

A goalie for the Minto Mad Dogs has to make the trip with his mother to Italy to receive treatment and his teammates and friends are looking to raise some support.

Jasper from the U15LL team is suffering from MPS VI and while dealing with the condition, still holds his head high tending the net for the Mad Dogs.

Assistant Coach Chuck Ellison says its amazing to see Jasper out on the ice giving it his all.

“It’s great to see him love the game and all the guys around him really see that and understand that he gives it all day in and day out whenever he’s on the ice. It’s heartwarming see all the guys gather around him like that” said Ellison.

To help raise funds, anyone can drop off their empties at Joan Hamilton’s bottle depot in Palmerston during their hours of operation and give back.

Ellison says support has already come in with an anonymous donation of covering the costs for the plane tickets in March.

“That’s pretty huge right off the hop, we just started this. It’s pretty fantastic that the community is coming together which started with a little hockey family.”

Handmade goats milk soap is also available for purchase at $5 each with 100% of the proceeds going back to support Jasper and his family.
