Minto Council Passes Off-Road Vehicle Bylaw

Minto Council has approved a bylaw to permit the use and regulate off-road vehicles on town owned roads.

The bylaw approved on April 6th also passed a resolution requesting Wellington County council to approve the use of off road vehicles on county roads in the Town of Minto.

The request on the bylaw was first brought to council on November 3rd when council asked staff to develop a draft bylaw and seek OPP input on December 1st.

Since Minto is a town and not a township it does not fall under Ontario Regulation 8/03 which required the town to pass a bylaw in order to allow off road vehicle and regulate their use.

Council approved the use of off-road vehicles in Minto with a 6-1 vote with Councilor Jean Anderson being the only one voting against.
