Milverton Takes Unique Approach to Halloween

There was no need to postpone or cancel Halloween in Milverton.

Due to a COVID-19 outbreak which has kept Milverton Public School closed and some kids in isolation, residents had their own idea to help make sure kids still got to fill their bags for Halloween.

Sandra Kuepfer who helped organize for the town says the idea all came from the support her family had received a year ago.

“My kids were in isolation last year. I remember from last Halloween we had so many people drive by our house and drop of treats just to make to special for the kids. So I talked with my husband and said why don’t we do the same this year?” said Kuepfer

With the help of the entire community, local businesses and even businesses from the surrounding area and the Perth East Fire Department, 220 bags were made up and handed out.

Kuepfer says she was blown away from the amount of support given.

“I couldn’t believe the support. We had businesses local here reach out. It reached the greater area too, it was more than just businesses in Milverton. It was really great.”

Businesses and groups from around the area supported with donations from Knollcrest Lodge, BK’s Brand Name in Listowel and Rheo Thompson Candies in Stratford and many more.
