Mapleton residents could see a 22 per cent increase to municipal water and wastewater systems next year.
The percentage increase is seen around $25 a month.
The increase is a result of high costs with the Drayton water tower which has rose in cost than the expected $4 million design cost by around 50 per cent.
The new rates which would take effect on January 1st would see a combined water and wastewater cost increases to $25.84 per month which would cost ratepayers $305.76 annually.
