Mapleton and Wellington North are putting together a joint application for federal funding to the tune of $32.5 million.
The funding which would come from the Canada Housing Infrastructure Funding would help the construction and upgrades of wastewater infrastructure needed to address expected population growth.
Wellington North is applying for a share of $17.5 million while Mapleton applies for $15 million.
A report which went to Mapleton council says joint applications tend to have a better shot over individual submissions.
