Maitland Conservation Authority Urging Water Safety

A recent track of heavy thunderstorms across the area has brought in localized bands of significant rainfall across the Maitland watershed.

The Maitland Conservation Authority reported at 7am on Thursday, rainfall totals ranged around 40-90mm with the heaviest amounts extending from Listowel to Clinton.

River levels still remain high, mainly in the headwater areas of Harriston and Listowel.

Officials are encouraged to monitor low lying and flood prone roads and residents are asked to use caution near all watercourses.

Maitland staff will continue to monitor the situation over the next few days and provide an update should conditions change.
