The Award is facilitated by the Police Association of Ontario to allow the public to nominate and recognize heroes that work on behalf of Ontarians.
Manny was part of the Listowel Police Force and now the OPP. In the statement supporting his nomination the person says that Manny goes above and beyond, not just when he is on duty but also when he is off duty.
They say that he has inspired many in the community including the nominator’s 7 year old who wants to be a police officer.
The Nominations are open from February 1st to March 14th, 2022. Further nominations can be submitted to info@policehero.ca.
Final award winners are chosen by the PAO Awards Committee. The categories are On-Duty Difference Maker (Sworn/Uniform), On-Duty Difference Maker (Civilian) and Community Role Model.
