With hockey season approaching, the Listowel Minor Hockey Association is kicking off a community closet to keep hockey affordable.
The LMHA Community Closet – Keeping Kids in the Game is still taking in donations of clean, gently used equipment in youth to adult sizes as well as outgrown Cyclones gear from hoodies, jackets, shirts and hats.
Helmets and mouth-guards are being accepted must be new. Becky TenHove, Director of Sponsorships for Listowel Minor Hockey says this is all being done at no cost for families.
“Anyone can come by and see what we have, we’ll keep an inventory on our website for after the Community Closet but just to get things kicked off, come in and see if there’s anything you can utilize and go from there. ” said TenHove.
Donations will be accepted at Listowel Ford, Honda and Chrysler until Saturday at 3pm.
The first community closet will be held at the Steve Kerr on September 8th from 5:30-8pm.
