The Listowel Memorial Arena demolition is nearly complete, the building no longer stands.
Before demolition began, an auction went up to sell pieces of the arena, including the old scoreboard. Chet and Katie Williams bought the scoreboard to complete their outdoor rink in Palmerston on their White Roads farm.
The family has a 140 by 100 foot outdoor ice rink with the board now mounted on a grain bin overtop the rink. Minor changes to the scoreboard include replacing the advertising signs which previous were on the clock.
The outdoor rink is open for any visitors to come and bring their kids for a skate, this year saw some changes due to the pandemic but Chet and Katie Williams remain committed every winter to allow visitors on their outdoor rink.
