LCBO Ditching Use of Paper Bags

The LCBO is up next to ditch their use of bags at their retail stores.

In the coming months the LCBO will be phasing out their single use paper bags from stores as part of their commitment to minimize the impact on the environment.

Officials say this move will take out almost 135 million paper bags annually from LCBO retail stores and convenience outlets, diverting 2665 tonnes of waste from landfill and saving the equivalent of more than 188,000 trees per year.

Customers are encouraged to bring their own bags and will have the option to purchase a reusable bag or request re-used cardboard or an 8 pack carrier at no cost.
