Laura Bross, a teacher at Brookside Public School in Lucknow has been awarded the International Dyslexia Association of Ontario’s Literacy Leader of the Year award.
Bross was recognized for her efforts as being a leader in advancing literacy education in the community.
The award celebrates teachers who are committed to implementing the recommendations from the Ontario Human Rights Commissions Right to Read Inquiry.
Bross’s colleagues recognized her skills and knowledge play a vital role in improving equity and outcomes for students, leading a grassroots movement in her school and is committed to ensuring every learners rights to read is honoured.
